At the heart of every great resume is a clear story—one that captures the client’s value, aligns with their goals, and presents their experience with precision and impact. Delivering that kind of document consistently is no small feat. That’s why we’ve developed a comprehensive Quality Review Program, built around an editorial rubric shaped by decades of experience in professional resume writing. We also have a checklist to help you ensure your document aligns with the editorial rubric.

This program is designed not only to uphold a high standard of work, but to help you, as a writer, grow your craft, increase client satisfaction, and ultimately improve your earning potential.

Why This Rubric—and Why Now?

We’ve worked with thousands of clients and managed countless editorial workflows. Over time, we’ve seen exactly what makes a resume successful—and where things tend to go off track. The rubric we use today reflects hard-earned insight from seasoned editors who understand what turns a generic draft into a standout career tool.

It breaks down quality into clear, objective categories. Each resume is reviewed against those standards, which were built to reflect:

  • Industry best practices in formatting, phrasing, and structure

  • Strategic alignment with client goals and target roles

  • The traits consistently present in high-performing, 5-star rated resumes

  • Feedback from clients about what matters most to them in a final draft

In other words, this rubric doesn’t reflect arbitrary preferences—it’s rooted in what works.

How the Program Works

A selection of completed resume orders will be reviewed by our editorial leadership team using the rubric. The frequency of the reviews is based on writer volume and metrics.

These reviews will focus on four key areas:

  • Skill Summary. How well does the opening section showcase the client’s value, and does it follow our structural and strategic standards?

  • Work History. Is the client’s experience rewritten clearly, accurately, and with appropriate length and phrasing?

  • Value Add. Has the writer applied strong editorial judgment, formatting consistency, and thoughtful inclusion of questionnaire detail?

  • Communication. Were messages clear, professional, and delivered on time?

Each category contains sub-criteria, and documents are evaluated based on whether they exceed, meet, or fall below expectations. Any major lapses (like inaccuracies, missed deadlines, or unprofessional tone) are flagged as mandatory violations.

You’ll receive regular, actionable feedback so you know exactly where you’re excelling and where you can improve.

Why It Matters: Quality and Earnings Go Hand in Hand

Client satisfaction isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s directly tied to your long-term success with us. Here’s how:

  • Higher quality scores increase the likelihood of 5-star reviews, which drive more visibility and trust on the platform.

  • Stronger client satisfaction ratings open the door to premium orders, high-value clients, and opportunities for bonuses.

  • Writers who consistently exceed expectations build credibility with both clients and internal teams, making you a top choice for complex, rewarding projects.

Put simply: The more consistently your work aligns with the rubric, the more opportunities you unlock.

What This Means for You

This program isn’t about nitpicking—it’s about clarity, consistency, and growth. As an independent contractor, you bring your own strengths, voice, and style to the table. The rubric doesn’t limit that. Instead, it provides a shared language for quality—so that you know what’s expected, and we know how to support your continued success.

What you can expect:

  • Transparent feedback based on measurable criteria

  • Targeted coaching and resources based on review trends

  • Opportunities to refine your craft and deliver documents that truly make a difference for your clients

Final Thoughts

You’re not just writing resumes—you’re writing turning points in people’s lives. The Quality Review Program exists to make sure every resume is worthy of that responsibility. When you align your work with this rubric, you’re not only meeting a standard—you’re raising the bar for your clients, your peers, and your own career.

We’re excited to roll this out and even more excited to partner with you in making it a success.
