Writers are now required to add a watermark to the resume and cover letter drafts for each of their projects. After the client has signed off on all changes, writers will remove the watermark and upload the final files to the clients account where they will show in their client portal.

In this article, we will cover:

Why do we add a watermark?

For TopResume clients, this is an advantage. It is designed to encourage TR clients to visit their career.io dashboard where they can access a wide variety of additional job search and career growth support services that they can’t access any other way. Clients who come through other brands don't have a career.io dashboard yet.

How do I add to and remove the watermark from my documents?

  • Here is a quick video demonstrating how to do this in MS Word.

  • We recommend that you save the file with "draft" in the file name to help you differentiate it from the "final" version that will be in the client's dashboard.

Project Management Do's and Don't's

AWAYS include a watermark on every resume draft sent to a client before to the order is ready to close.

  • Wait until the order is ready to close to remove the watermark from the document, and then only do so as described below.

  • Check with your manager if a customer asks you to remove the watermark. Any other resume/CV draft before the final draft must include the watermark.

ALWAYS remind the client that they should let you know they are satisfied before they close the order through their portal.

  • If the client closes anyway, let your manager know and upload/send the document without the watermark via Expert Hub.

ALWAYS upload the final draft with the watermark removed to Expert Hub before clicking the “Close Order” button.

  • The most recent version of each document in Expert Hub will be sent to CIO, so this step is critical.

  • In other words, there should always be a new draft uploaded the day the order is closed.

  • Always attach the final documents to the Farewell email.

Watermark Scripts

The following scripts will you help manage client expectations and questions related to the watermark.

FIRST DRAFT MESSAGE

How do I inform my clients about this?

  • Add this snippet to every outgoing, project-release message when you send the first draft to your customers.

Now that you have your first draft(s), we are in the collaborative revision process. You will see that your first draft contains a watermark. This will remain only while we are working on revisions. Once we have completed all revisions to your document(s), the watermark is removed and the final documents are uploaded to your dashboard.

REVISION MESSAGES

How do I inform my clients about this?

  • Add this snippet to every outgoing, project-release message when you send the first draft to your customers.

If you are happy with these drafts, let me know and I will ensure that the system is ready to remove the watermark. That way, when you give your final approval through your Portal, you'll receive documents without the Draft watermark in place.

CLIENTS WHO DON'T LIKE THE WATERMARK
