Executive Order Process & Scripts for Unresponsive Clients

Guidelines for nudging unresponsive clients and closing orders

This is general guidance for clients who don't respond after you send the first draft. These executive orders do not have a set revision period, so avoid mentioning a hard "order close" date or the end of the revision period.

There's no penalty for keeping an order open beyond the seven day revision period. If an order is lingering on and you want to close it so you're paid, contact us! Sending the order close message isn't the only way to do this. We can manually close it without sending the customer a message.

If a client expresses dissatisfaction then stops responding, please contact us before sending nudges and/or closing the order. Our support team can intervene.

The Process (no response or limited response from client)

  1. First draft is sent.

  2. If there's no response from the client within 2-3 business days after delivery, send writer manual nudge #1 (send this even if an auto-nudge is sent by the system).

  3. If there's still no response from the client 2-3 days after sending the first nudge (4-6 days after first draft delivery), go ahead and develop the client's other documents (LinkedIn and/or Career Bio). Send these along with writer manual nudge #2. Remember to adjust the scripts to reflect which documents you're sending (LinkedIn, Career Bio, ATS-Friendly Resume).

  4. Then, 4-5 days after LinkedIn and other doc delivery, send the final nudge, attaching all ordered documents to this message (including ATS friendly resume, if ordered). For the DATE prompt, enter a date 2-3 business days later.

  5. On that DATE, send the closing script with final documents. Remember to send these documents in Word, with any highlights and/or prompts removed.

  6. If/when the client responds with changes, we can reopen the order with Extended Revisions (including additional compensation).

Manual Writer Nudge #1 (2-3 business days after first draft delivery)

Hi, [CUSTOMER NAME],

I wanted to follow up with you on your project and advise you on what happens next! Your first drafts of your resume and cover letter are ready and waiting for you. I have attached them to this message for your reference.

If I do not hear from you regarding any changes to your resume in the next day or so, I will create your LinkedIn document to keep the process moving. You can expect to receive that in the next few business days.

After that is delivered, we can tackle any revisions you may need to your resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn as a package.

Of course, I can also wait to give you more time to review the resume and cover letter. Just let me know what you prefer.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Best regards,

Manual Writer Nudge #2 (5-7 days after first draft delivery)

Hi, [CUSTOMER NAME],

Cheery opening line based on your style and what you know about the customer.

I am following up with you about your resume and cover letter documents that I sent to you. I have attached those, along with your new LinkedIn document [and/or career bio] to this email.

Feel free to reply to this email with any revision requests. If it's easier, you can also mark up the draft itself. Make any changes or additions using boldface, a different font color, Track Changes, or Comments. You are welcome to type questions directly in the draft as well. Then send the document as an attachment.

Once I receive this, I’ll review your changes, feedback, and comments, then make revisions to ensure alignment with our proven methods and expert recommendations.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Best regards,

Meanwhile, to ensure you have all you need for your job search, I will upload your final documents on #### date. Though your project will show as closed in our administrative system, I am still available to take care of any revisions you may need. Just let me know.
